I thought the visual display to be amazing, ultimate LSD experience, especially if you go to the 3d version.....but thats about it...the plot was very close to Dancing with Wolves and predictable. I am going to go see it again mainly because so much is going on Im sure I missed things...

I'm a certified cgi nut. Something about the movie based on ads i've seen, just doesn't interest me. I'll definitely see it when it comes out on dvd. I'm just not going to see it at the movies.

I dont think DVD will do the special effects justice compared to the big screen...go to a matinee as it will be cheaper, I wouldnt discourage anyone from seeing it as the special effects were pretty good.

I liked the movie. Maybe the plot was predictable but it was still very entertaining and visually cool.

This guy spent 14 years re-writing Pocahontas.......same exact script. Sad making this kind of money for lame story lines.......sucked, I wont buy the DVD.

Sigourny is pretty...she doesn't look old to us older peeps.

The story is a classic plot line, but that's not the point. This movie is absolutely groundbreaking on some many levels. It's spectacular visually. The attention to detail is incredible. Cameron is a genius. He's managed to take movies to a new level not once, but several times in his career. Even Spielberg would have a hard time matching that. He's been my favorite director since Terminator, and he rarely disappoints. He's said that Terminator is only a "curiosity" at this point because of the low budget, but it holds up even today, ESPECIALLY when you consider he was shooting with puppets, stop action and miniatures. It's an incredible movie that's spawned and entire universe of other movies. He's a great director and Avatar is absolutely worth seeing. See it in IMAX 3D.
